Hi Louise,

The page that I think you're trying to register on is:
https://myaccount.gateway.gov.uk/Pages/Registration/RegisterWithUserId.aspx?role=i&cks=1

It's actually part of the old Direct.gov web site, not that this matters,
both old and new sites have problems in terms of accessibility.

To the point though, I found the following information about the password
requirements:
Password must:
. contain 8to 12 letters and numbers
. contain at least one number and one letter.

Perhaps the passwords you tried didn't have both numeric and alphabetic
characters and a minimum of 8 letters?

Hope this helps,

Bim

Could you post a link to the website you're trying to use? Also, could you
explain what you're finding difficult? It'll all help someone help you out.

Léonie.

Subject: [BCAB] new direct gov website

Hey y'all.
I have just discovered the new job search on direct.gov and found it rather
inaccessible and cluttered. Does anyone know how to register for the online
service to enable me to do a job search. I have tried to register for a
gateway id or what ever they call it. However i can't get passed the
password entry field despite trying several passwords.
Can anyone shed any light on how this thing works.

Thanks, Louise.
