Hi All, not the full answer as does not address when things go wrong, but remember that just about all new systems now can come with a fob on your key ring which is single button activated. There is a keypad set up like a telephone keypad, and you have to enter a four digit code to set the alarm, and the same four digit code to switch it off when you come in. There is no accessible output from the screen, but I had few problems in the time I had the alarm. Best, David. -----Original Message----- From: bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk [mailto:bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk] On Behalf Of Kiran Kaja Sent: 01 May 2012 11:40 To: 'BCAB Discussion List' Subject: Re: [BCAB] accessible burglar alarm Thank you David. I am researching all the options. Further to this, the staff at ADT knew of my disability, and said that if I encountered any problems, they'd help sort them out, which indeed, they did. Best, David. -----Original Message----- From: bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk [mailto:bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk] On Behalf Of Andrew Hodgson Sent: 30 April 2012 23:41 To: BCAB Discussion List Subject: Re: [BCAB] accessible burglar alarm Hi, The Centico (SP) system that Steve used to deal with I believe is no more, it was quite expensive. The system we have here doesn't actually have a screen on it, everything is controlled with lights and beeps, and to access any of the advanced functions of the unit you need an engineer code which I don't have, and the turning on and off of the system is very simple. I do have a feature on it where you can turn off a specific zone in the house for pets etc. by using a programme button but this again is very usable without sight. Not sure of the make/model etc. it was just from a local company. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk [mailto:bcab-bounces@lists.bcab.org.uk] On Behalf Of Kiran Kaja Sent: 30 April 2012 23:10 To: BCAB Discussion List Cc: BCAB Discussion List Subject: Re: [BCAB] accessible burglar alarm I would appreciate any info as well. Someone from ADT is visiting to do an assessment. has anyone tried their monitoring service?
