Hi. You should be fine. I always put my box in stand by first then if I do turn it off from the wall, it doesnt corrupt data. I would not turn it off At the wall without pressing the power button to send the box in to standby first as this could result in corruption. Also make sure that no program is recording when you turn it off. HTH, Mo.
