Hi. I’m New hear, first post etc.. Anyway, I can’t vouch for using Windows 8 myself. There’s some info on using the latest version of JAWS, (14), in the Freedom Scientific podcasts for August and September. http://www.freedomscientific.com/FSCast/default.asp As far as JAWS, I gather the latest version, 14, works pretty well with Windows 8, despite the changes to the Windows GUI. One thing to note regarding using Internet Explorer. I seem to recall the Metro version on Win 8, isn’t that accessible. The version for the desktop, should work as before. Up until very recently I had discounted using Windows 8 PCs and was looking at the various free and purchased options for screen readers on Windows 7 PCs. The students are not taught anything complicated, just standard internet access and office usage. I have recently listened to this week's In-Touch with an article on this very subject. Leoni Watson gave a good review on it. Does anyone have any ready-to-hand information on the use of native Windows accessibility that I can pass to the committee? Some documentation and even a video clip or two might be of help. Many thanks in advance.
