I use earphones all the time in meetings. Like you I use the in ear variety. I don't believe anyone has ever commented on this, or (to the best of my knowledge) looked at me strangely for doing so. At least, not that any of my colleagues has ever mentioned. I want to pick up on one point in the article, where one of the contributers suggests that it's rude to ware headphones at a meeting. I have to say that I do this all the time, usually because it's my job to take a note of what's being said. I use the small in ear headphones. I also have my laptop, on which I take notes (and on occasion do other stuff) and essentially I was wondering if others take a view on this matter. I'm not sure that braille would really be less obtrusive. N.B. this is not a braille good speech bad or vice versa issue, I'm looking for views on this specific point.
