Re: [BCAB] Opening a Zip attachment in Outlook2003. iansubs 15 Aug 2013 14:32 BST

Hi David,
I'm not sure I've got the courage at the moment. But if I get much more
frustrated, I might pluck up enough to have a go. <smile>
Have you any instructions please?

Best regards, Ian.

Ian,

There's a registry hack you can do if you're brave enough.

Best regards,

David.

Hi Richard,
You're right! It is annoying.
That's the way I've been doing it on this new PC. I was just hoping there
was a faster way of doing it. I.e. getting "view attachment" to recognise
Zip files. It seems to be okay for other file types.

Thanks anyway.
All the best, Ian.

Ian Dawson.

Ian, It's a bit annoying that one. You seem to have to right click the
attachment and then save as. Then it should open in the usual way.

Subject: [BCAB] Opening a Zip attachment in Outlook2003.

Hi folks,
I've just moved from using Outlook2002 on an XP machine to Outlook2003 on
Windows7.
I used to be able to open TNAUK Zipped attachments by using the application
key drop down menu for a message and choosing "view attachments".
But on my new setup the view attachment option seems to ignore Zip files and
I can't open the Zip file.

Is there something I need to set up to do this or is it not possible in
Outlook2003?

Thanks for any insights.

Kind regards, Ian.
