Léonie.

Whilst some of the points made about the RNIB might not fall in to the
purview of the Moderators there were a number of very valid observations
being made that were of concern to members on the list.

I believe that it is important that all areas of the BCAB list are given due
consideration when monitoring or censoring topics on the list i.e. British
"Computer" Association "of the Blind" with an equal emphasis on computing
and visual impairment and how they can impact on each other.

Regards

Alan

Alan,

Discussion about retailers isn't necessarily on topic for this list. In this
case the retailer does sell technology related items, so it could be argued
that there is worth in discussing it here.

Unfortunately the conversation had digressed into a general criticism of the
RNIB, including many aspects completely unrelated to computing or
technology. It's not that we don't share everyone's frustrations about not
being able to pay online with RNIB, just that we want to keep discussions on
topic.

Léonie.

Morning Listers

I am at a bit of a loss as to why the discussion of the RNIB's Online Shop
etc. has been brought to an end. If it was PC World which was failing its
customers then this would be a legitimate topic for the list so, as the RNIB
sells IT equipment to their customers, why can't its shortcomings be aired
on this list?

Just out of interest is the "Mike Townsend" that is mentioned on the list of
RNIB Trustees the one and the same that is the honourary President of the
BCAB?

Cheers

Alan
