Hi Ibrahim,

I have no idea to be honest, as I haven't bought the book yet.

All the best

Steve

Hi Steve.

Just a quick question for you, I'm thinking about buying this book, but before I plonk my money down, I want to know how they deal with the inconsistency of the Android experience on different devices? I suspect that they expect you to use a stock Android variant or at the very least a launcher such as Google now or nova which work well with talkback?

Thanks, Ibrahim.

Hi George,

They will indeed, you can just buy it online and download it immediately.

I can also tell you that as an Android nurd, I know Ana Gaza and JJ well and they both have great knowledge. I'm just glad they shared it.

All the best

Steve

I thought those interested in, or even curious about, Android, might be interested in the following. There is a link to the purchase page, but I have to confess I have no idea if National Braille Press will deal with those outside of the USA.

Hi All,

National Braille Press announced the release of "Getting Started with Android, Learning Android with TalkBack." It's a three-volume braille book that sells for $24.00. I'm one of the coauthors, so I'm not very objective.

Instead of telling everyone how wonderful it is, I'll point you to the NBP page with the table of contents. I'll place the introductory blurb before the link.

Ciao

At last — Get Started with Android!

We hit pay dirt when JJ Meddaugh and Ana Garza of AT Guys agreed to write a soup-to-nuts Android book. So if you've been thinking about trying Android but have questions about its level of accessibility, Getting Started with Android gives you the skinny. Learn how to use Android with the accessibility feature TalkBack, from first time set-up to basic gestures, modified standard gestures, voice actions, installing and using apps, and much more. If you are new to Android or thinking of going Google, Getting Started with Android fits the bill.
